Immigration law
Xenos Law Group
Sergio had already been burned by one developer before he found me. The site that existed wasn't just bad. It was copied from another law firm. I rebuilt it from scratch in WordPress and Elementor Pro, and then rebuilt it again when his firm rebranded. Two years later, he's still a client. Full disclosure: he's also my immigration lawyer.

The problem
Sergio came to me in a situation. He'd hired someone to build his firm's website. Paid them. And what he got back was a copy. Not inspired by another law firm's site. Actually copied from one. Same structure, same language, barely personalized. For a firm where credibility is everything, that was a real problem.
He was understandably not thrilled about hiring another stranger on the internet. He came in skeptical. Lots of questions about process, timeline, what happens if this goes wrong again. Totally fair.
The site he had wasn't just ethically compromised. It also didn't work. Generic stock imagery, vague copy that could have applied to any firm anywhere, no clear path for someone to understand who Xenos helps or how to reach them. It looked like a template because it was one.
For a firm handling life-changing immigration cases, employers, employees, investors, entrepreneurs, families, the website was actively working against them. People were landing and leaving before they ever found out how good the team actually is.
The approach
First thing I did was communicate. A lot. Sergio needed to trust that I wasn't going to disappear with his money or hand him something generic. So I kept him in the loop at every step: what I was doing, why, and what was coming next.
I took the existing copy, rewrote it to actually sound like his firm, and built a full Figma design before touching WordPress. He could see exactly what the law firm website redesign would look like before a single page went live. That mattered to him.
The build focused on three things: clarity, credibility, and ease of contact. Immigration clients are often in complicated, stressful situations. The site needed to immediately answer the question 'can this firm help me?' and make it dead simple to reach out.
I also built it so his team could manage it themselves. They can upload testimonials, update photos, make basic edits without calling me. That was a specific request from Sergio and it was the right one. A website nobody can update is a website that goes stale.
When the firm rebranded from Sergio Law to Xenos Law Group, he came back. We evolved the design, refined the structure, transferred the domain. Same strong foundation, sharper execution.
Before and after
In their words
She communicated with me over the few weeks she worked on our firm's website, was responsive, took all our feedback, and was very positive, patient, accommodating, and reassuring. She took this off my plate and I am so happy I picked her for my website design and development, especially given the pickle I was in. She's a delight.
The results
The site launched and Sergio was happy with it immediately. But the real proof came from the numbers. Comparing the four months after launch to the same period the year before: active users up 42.7%, event count up 48.6%. People weren't just visiting. They were staying, reading, and reaching out.
His team can update the site without help. The thing loads fast. And Sergio trusted the work enough to come back for a second project when the firm rebranded entirely.
He also ended up becoming my immigration lawyer. That's probably the best result I've ever gotten from a case study.
